Here's what to do when the content needs to go out but you're not motivated
Hey there! π
Let me share a little secret... I REALLY didn't want to write this newsletter today. My motivation tank was running on empty, but the content calendar waits for no one, right? π
We've all been there - staring at that blank page while your brain offers nothing but crickets. So I thought, why not turn this productivity struggle into something useful?

Now boarding: the content struggle busβ¦
Feeling stuck? Here are 6 tricks when you've got content due but your motivation ghosted you: π»
1. Embrace AI to kick-start π€
Listen, AI tools like Claude Projects can be your best friend on low-energy days! I upload my past high-performing posts to give it context about my style, then ask it to suggest themes based on my expertise.
This gives me a jumping off point that I can then customize with my real experiences and personal touches. What used to take 3-4 hours now takes about 45 minutes!
2. Batch content during motivation spikes β‘
Those glorious days when ideas flow freely? CAPITALIZE ON THEM! I recently spent a productive Sunday planning Monday-Friday's posts in one sitting. Having a content reserve for when motivation dips is like having insurance for your sanity. (I wish I had tacked this newsletter on⦠next time!)
3. Remix and repurpose your greatest hits π
Your audience hasn't memorized all your content (shocking, I know). Try creating a "best of" post highlighting your top insights from past content. Or revisit an old topic with fresh eyes - "Here's what I said about LinkedIn algorithms last year, and here's how my perspective has evolved..."
4. Find an accountability buddy to shame motivate you π―
Nothing lights a fire under you quite like knowing someone's waiting for your content. My accountability buddy sends a simple "Where's that post? π" text that somehow works better than all my calendar reminders combined.
5. Change your environment ποΈ
Your brain associates certain spaces with certain activities. If your desk is screaming "creativity blockade," grab your laptop and move. A coffee shop, park bench, or even just a different room can reset your mental state.
6. Embrace the "good enough" philosophy π
Sometimes done is better than perfect. Ask yourself: "Will anyone actually notice if this isn't my absolute best work?" Probably not. Give yourself permission to ship something that's just good enough on tough days.
Remember, content creation is a marathon, not a sprint. Some days you'll feel like a content genius, others you'll wonder if you've forgotten how to string sentences together. Both are completely normal! π
(& yes, I used several of these tips to help me write this!)
