🌪️ Managing the Beautiful Chaos of Life Changes (Without Losing Your Mind)

How I'm staying sane while packing up my entire existence + the power of over-communicating your needs

In partnership with

Hey there! 👋

We’re taking a break of our typical Creator Business content to pull back the curtain on what’s going on in my life (& funnily enough, still help out with Creator Businesses LOL)

So… can we talk about something for a second? I'm currently sitting surrounded by boxes, half-empty drawers, and what can only be described as the physical manifestation of my entire life scattered across my living room floor. And honestly? I'm feeling ALL the feelings about it. 😅

My current desk situation… giving my hives 😮‍💨

This week marks my last in this apartment before we officially start our remote life adventure. I thought I'd be more organized by now (spoiler: I'm not), and I definitely thought I'd feel more "put together" about this massive life change (double spoiler: also not happening).

But here's what I'm learning in the middle of this beautiful chaos...

Permission to Feel ALL the Feelings

I used to think that being excited about something big meant I shouldn't also feel stressed, overwhelmed, or scared. Like somehow feeling multiple emotions at once meant I was doing it wrong.

Plot twist: that's complete nonsense! 🙃

This week I've felt grateful, terrified, excited, and weirdly guilty all before getting out of bed. And you know what? I'm giving myself full permission to feel every single one of those emotions without trying to "fix" them or talk myself out of them.

Some days I'm bouncing off the walls excited about the content opportunities and new experiences coming our way. Other days I'm staring at my mug collection wondering if I really need 12 different mugs for two people (the answer is obviously yes, but that's beside the point).

The Magic of Over-Communicating Your Needs

Here's something that's been a total game-changer: I've started over-communicating with my husband about literally everything I need help with, even if it seems tiny or "not important."

You know those moments where you're mentally keeping track of 47 different things and your partner asks "Is there anything I can help with?" and you say "No, I'm good" even though you're internally screaming about the fact that someone needs to deal with the pile of cables that may or may not be important?

Yeah, I stopped doing that. 🛑

Now when something pops into my head, even if it's just "Can you figure out what this random charger goes to?" I say it out loud. Not because he can't see that I'm stressed, but because getting it off my mental load and onto his actual to-do list is like instant relief for my brain.

Turning Chaos Into Content Gold

Here's the thing about big life changes: they're messy, emotional, and unpredictable. But they're also absolute content goldmines if you're willing to be real about the process.

Instead of pretending I have it all figured out, I'm documenting the real behind-the-scenes moments. The decision paralysis over which notebooks to pack. The weird guilt about being stressed over something amazing. The 11 PM packing sessions where I question every life choice I've ever made.

This vulnerability isn't just therapeutic for me (though it definitely is), it's also the kind of content that actually connects with people. Because we're all just winging it with better systems, right? 😂

Systems for Surviving the Chaos

Even in the middle of major life upheaval, I'm still finding ways to create structure where I can:

Brain dumps before bed - Getting every random worry out of my head and onto paper (or a voice memo) so I can actually sleep

Daily check-ins with my husband - Five minutes each morning to sync on priorities and divvy up tasks

 • One box at a time - Because trying to pack an entire apartment in one day is a recipe for a breakdown

 • Documenting the process - Turning this chaos into content that might help someone else going through their own big changes

The Real Truth About Big Changes

The honest truth is that sometimes growth requires you to scare yourself a little bit. Comfort zones feel safe, but they can also become creativity killers if you stay in them too long.

This move isn't just about seeing new places or working from different time zones (though that's pretty exciting too). It's about choosing growth over comfort and trusting that the skills and systems we've built can handle whatever comes next.

So if you're in the middle of your own beautiful chaos right now, remember: it's okay to feel all the feelings, ask for help with the "small" stuff, and document the messy parts of the journey. Sometimes the most valuable content comes from the moments when you feel least like you have it all figured out.
